Imitation of the Kuffar

Q. Bismillah ar-rahman araheem, we would like a further clarification and a clearer understanding of a previous lecture given, entitled: The Ahadith of the Prophet (sallah allahu alayhi wassalam) concerning the prohibition of imitating the kufar. Jaazakum Allahu khayr.

          A. The sheikh Rahimahu Allah continued on to say: We state that anything that is specific to the kufar, their culture, and their traditions is not permissible. It is not permissible for the Muslim to neither beautify himself nor take for him self anything that is specific to the kufaar. There is no doubt it is not within our capacity at this time to enter into this topic in detail or in very precise levels because the imitation (Tashabuh) is of different levels. I will give you some examples concerning what I mean so it will become clear to you.

Bismillah ar-rahman araheem

Imitation of the Kuffar 2
I had not planned to speak to you, rather the plan was that we would have a brother of ours visiting us. This brother is with us in the da’wa salafiya from old times. When his brothers called him to submit to the book of Allah and the sunnah of his messenger, he submitted and came to it. We had planned that he should speak and give us a word that would benefit the Muslimeen in general, the Salafiyeen in specific. But as I was entering, another thought came upon me. I have decided to speak on a topic because this is an opportunity that I find.

The Future is for Islam

Narrations About the Future of Islam
By: Shaikh, Imam, and Mujaddid (Reviver of Islam), Muhammad Nasir ad-Din al-Albani
(The Levant [Bilad ash-Sham])

Our Shaikh, Imam al-Albani, may Allah have mercy on him, was one of the most optimistic people about the victory and strengthening of this religion, that is because optimism strengthens one's resolve and seriousness, it helps and an individual reach his goals despite hardships, evil consequences, and difficulties which are placed in the path of the Ummah of Islam.  Shaikh al-Albani showed his optimism in his lectures, classes, books, and letters.  He began his great book, Silsilat al-Ahadith as-Sahihah, with an article he named, The Future is for Islam.
What follows is the speech of the Shaikh:
The future belongs to Islam.  Allah said,
It is He Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad SAW) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam), to make it superior over all religions even though the Mushrikoon (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) hate (it).” [9:33]
This ayah gives us glad tidings that the future belongs to Islam, through its rule, strong appearance, and dominance over all other religions.  Some assume that these goals were achieved during the Prophets time, and during the time of the rightly guided caliphs and righteous kings.  This, however, is not true.  What was achieved during those times is only a portion of this truthful promise.

The final advice of Shaykh al-Albani may Allah have mercy on him.

The Nations Will Gather Against You

The Nations Will Gather Against You
Translated by: Amr Abul Rub
Question: I have a doubt about the Hadith, “Soon the nations will gather against you, just as people are called to a feast”, for two reasons:
Firstly: It speaks about the unseen, and none knows the Ghaib except Allah.
Secondly: It influences the people to be pleased with our state, and not try to change at all.
There is no doubt that it is a fabricated Hadith, from one of the enemies of Islam.
Answer from Shaykh al-Albani:
The Hadith is authentic without doubt, and it speaks about an unseen matter, which Allah knows of, and it is one of the matters that is possible, without any kind of confusion, as it is one of the necessities of prophethood and being a messenger, and it points to something other than one what questioner is asking.
That is my general answer, and as for the details:
Firstly, the authenticity of the Hadith:

Virtues of Al-Shaam

Virtues of Al Shaam and its People
(Al-Shaam: refers to the lands currently known as Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon,  Parts of northern Egypt, and parts of western Iraq)

1) From Zayd ibn thabit Al-ansari (radiya allahu anhu) said I heard the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم say: “O tooba (a tree in paradise/glad tidings) for the Shaam!, O tooba (a tree in paradise/glad tidings) for the Shaam!, O tooba (a tree in paradise/glad tidings) for the Shaam!”
They said: “O Messanger of Allah! How did they get this?” He replied “The angels of Allah have rested their wings upon the Shaam”
Sheikh Al-albani says: The hadith is Sahih. It was narrated in Al-tirmidhi and other than it.
